Spelling That Makes Sense

This program is based on the objective that students learn rules associated with spelling patterns in which they apply to everyday writing. Procedure: Teacher will introduce spelling rule and give example of words within the spelling pattern of the rule. In class: Students will play games and do word associated activities to practice. Words will also be used in everyday writing. Homework: Students will do homework based on the rule currently being studied to reinforce spelling skills. Students will have other words including sight words, and words pertaining to current classroom studies to memorize. Assessment: Students will take an assessment every other Friday. The test will include six (6) spelling rule words, five (5) sight words, three (3) current studies words and two (2) math words.
