Student Organizer Book Information

I hope that this system will help keep you updated with what is going on in the classroom and involved as parents.  Please read below to see how this program works.

The Way it Works

During the last 15-20 minutes of each day, students will be asked to keep a small journal of daily events, which is located on the lined section of their notebook.  These events can include something that they enjoyed that day, something they saw, something they learned, etc.

Homework will be handed out, and it is the responsibility of each student to write down their homework under the “homework” section of their journal.  Homework is generally assigned Monday through Thursday.

The “Information” section will be outlined and recorded by students, such as when book orders or office papers are due.

Under the reading section of the notebook, it is the responsibility of your child to home read for at least 20 minutes each night.  The material your child reads during this time can be chosen from a wide range of sources, including a personal book from home, the school library, classroom library, etc.

Finally, once you have reviewed all the information with your child daily, please initial under the “Parent Initial” section.  Although the initial system is time consuming and tedious, it helps keep all of us on the same page.
