The WASL is but a memory and we are now back in full swing of our regular schedule.. Thanks to Mrs. Michaud who set up our celebration honoring all the hard work and good effort the fourth graders put into the WASL. Mr. and Mrs. Richey popped and filled 80 bags of popcorn, and Mrs. Perry provided fruit for our waffle bowls. Mrs. Ferguson supplied the napkins and forks. Thank you to you all!!
We are working in our Comprehension Tool Kit right now in reading. It's a great program designed for helping students learn comprehension strategies for reading non-fiction. Many of the strategies can also be used in reading non-fiction, and they strategies they will use for the rest of their reading lives.
There has been a lot of improvement in writing this year. We will continue to use the Ralph Fletcher program and practice writing for a variety of purposes over the next few weeks.
In math, we are working on geometry right now. Specifically, coordinate geometry. We have looked at angles, classified triangles, and will do more work with quadrilaterals and other polygons as we head toward June. We have already done work with solids, but will revisit that as well.
