Schools are communities of leaders working together to impact and improve student learning and well-being.  The following is a list of characteristics and a brief rationale that exemplify great leadership.

    visible.  Being available shows the value of others.

    inclusive.  Confidence includes, fear excludes.

    dream keepers.  Share the vision to spread the vision.

    moral.  Integrity and character are cornerstones.

    balanced.  Stay spiritually clear, mentally sharp and physically strong.

    unusually positive.  Humor enhances optimism and makes difficult work fun.

    risk takers.  Leaders aren't afraid to stand up or stand out.

    servants.  Promoting others is job one.

    learners.  There's always more to learn.

    communicators.  Listening is often more important than talking.

    knowledgeable.  Use resources and find others when necessary.

    passionate.  Care about something!
