Brain Pop Junior This site includes animated
movies, ideas for grownups, games and activities, cartoons and jokes about the
topic, word wall, quiz and lots of other stuff. |

Family Fun - is just that. There are ideas for
cooking,
planning parties, travel, arts and crafts, and new back-to-school gadgets.
Also featured are wholesome games designed for
entertainment and/or learning. There are how-to videos with everything
from Blue Jean Bags to Silly Sandwiches. Dont be surprised when your kids get
together and decide they want to make Snail Snacks. |

Kids.gov
- is an information portal designed just for kids. Grouped by age or subject,
it provides links to U.S. government and non-government sites. It links to
over 1,200 web pages from government agencies, schools, and educational
organizations, all geared to the learning level and interest of kids. The K-5
section features the arts, games, math, money (where they can create their
own,) individual states, and much more. For older kids, there are links to
Computers, Technology, Health & Fitness, Science and other areas of
interest. |

Whyville More than just
a social netwr, Whyville is an educational tool sponsored by entities like
NASA and designed to engage children in all types of activities that will
impact their understanding in real life. For example, they are encouraged to
earn a salary writing for the Whyville Times or stocking up the cafeteria. The
money comes in handy when they go to the mall to choose and buy their face
features and clothes from thousands of possible combinations to crate their
Whyville character. They are also required to buy a house and deal with a
simplified version of the hassles this entails. They get sick if they don't
eat nutritiously. And they are are encouraged to try all sorts of logic
building games. Users pass a rigorous "chat license" test before being allowed
to converse with others. They system encourages to kids to set their own
boundaries and protect the community while being aritrated by adults. |
