MYSTERY BOOKS

Book Review Rating Guide--What do the books by the reviewers name mean?

Kehret, Peg. Ghost's Grave
If you like "ghosts" and fiction you really should read Ghost's Grave. One reason you should read it is because it is action packed with details . There are ghosts, guns and adventure. I like the feature that only some people can talk to ghosts. The problem in the book is that Josh doesn't have any friends. The book takes place in Minneapolis and Seattle. My opinion about the books is that is the best book ever because of the ghosts and action.

Editors Note: Did you know that the author of this book, Peg Kehret, lives in Washington State. She's written lots of other terrific, scary mysteries, too.

Keene, Carolyn. Nancy Drew Mystery Series
I just loved the Nancy Drew series. It was full of excitement and scary things. This series is a mystery series and there is stuff you might not like. In most of the books, Nancy is threatened and almost killed. If you don't like violence, don't read these books. Otherwise, read this fabulous series.

Editors Note: I read these books in the 1960's. I REFUSED to read anything else until I had read the last Nancy Drew book I could find. I liked them because I wanted to read something scary where the lead character might die, but I loved knowing that in the end she would be safe--because Carolyn Keene couldn't write another Nancy Drew book if Nancy died! Did you know there really isn't a Carolyn Keene. A lot of people have written these books as "Ghost Writers" and published them under the name of Carolyn Keene.

Van Draanen, Wendlin. Sammy Keyes and the Hollywood Mummy
This mystery book is one of the best books I've ever read. When Sammy goes to Hollywood to visit her mom, one of her mom's roommates is murdered! Sammy tries to figure out why this person was killed and who committed this horrible murder. I love this book because it was so intense through the whole book. You get so into this book book that you absolutely can't stop reading! I recommend gthis book to people who love to read like me. You must read this book! And also if you like this book you can read all the other Sammy Keyes books. They are all fantastic!

Editor's Note: If you like Nancy Drew mysteries, you'll like Sammy Keyes.
