Book Review Rating Guide--What do the books in the reviews mean?

Anderson, Jodi Lynn. May Bird and the Ever After
This book is about how a girl named May Bird falls into a lake. But this lake is a portal to the Ever After where ghosts do things like we do. How will May Bird get home. I liked this boo a lot because I love fiction. If you love stories that are interesting fiction, you will absolutely love this book. But don't worry this story is not very scary, but it does have scary climax moments.

Colfer, Eoin. Artemis Fowl.
This book was awful. It is about a goblin named Holly who interferes with the humans and Artemis Fowl finds her. Don't waste your time reading this book. The story keeps going back and forth. I barely understood any of this book.

Collins, Suzanne. Gregor and the Code of Claw
This book is the best book I have ever read. It's about a boy named Gregor who travels to the bottom of the world an teams up with humans and giant animals. I liked this book because of how interesting it was. This is the best book ever.

(Editor's Note: This is a part of the Gregor series. You might want to read the first book Gregor the Overlander before reading this book so you have some background information. Who would ever think that a book where the cockroaches were heroes would appeal to me! But it did.)

Rowling, J.K.  Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
The 6th book in this captivating series is outstanding. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is about the sixteen year old Harry Potter getting a text-book from his new potions teacher Horace Slughorn. The textbook has cheats and shortcuts to potion making. The book belonged to the Half Blood Prince and has dark spells like Septumsempra here huge wounds open up in the person that got hit by the spell. The spell kills them because of loss of blood if not treated quickly. Harry is also having secret lessons with Professor Dumbledore where he learns of Voldemort's past. Anybody who likes magic books would want to read this book. It is an exceptional book in the seven book series. Read this amazing book.

Rowling, J.K. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

I thought this book was one of the best of the series! This book was about Harry Potter goes to his Godfather, Sirius Black's, house. He finds out about the people really working hard to fight off... well you know who. He meets new allies in his ongoing quest to defeat Voldemort. He gets yet another Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, a Ministry of Magic worker who takes over. He forms a group called Dumbledore's Army and more.

I really like the series but this one was one of my favorites. My favorite genre is fantasy because it lets you use your imagination. I loved this book because I thought it had great details and it gets right to the point in the beginning. I really don't like books that start slow and has no action. I really like these books because they get the book going without hesitation. You should definately read these books!

(Note: Please read the others before you read this one! I once tried reading this one first when I was younger... I got soooooo confused)

Sachar, Louis. Wayside School Gets a Little Stranger
This was the worst book of all times. Who wants to read 30 chapters that all have different topics. I mean in a chapter they talk about Santa and in the next chapter they talk abaout Mr. Gorf! I would not raad this book again, and neither should you.

Snicket, Lemony. The Series of Unfortunate Events
I read a book series called A Series of Unfortunate Events. It is about three kids that lose their mom and dad and have to live with their evil uncle in a terrible and miserable home. If you like stories with dread, you should definitely read this book. Read all 13 books to find out. I absolutely love it. It is the best book ever.

Editors note: This book is a great way to learn new words. The author, Lemony Snicket has a real talent for working huge words into his text.
