Gutman, Dan.  The Homework Machine
The Homework Machine is about four fifth-graders spending no time at all doing their homework--a machine does it for them. BUt when it gets to be too much, they do something with the machine that gets them into trouble with the law. I liked this book because it made me laugh at times and I love realistic fiction. If you're looking for a book to read read this one.

In the Homework Machine the D squad a group in a ordinary class have a meeting. Brenton Damagatchi the dumbest and smartest kid in class tells the D squad that he had a machine do his homework for him. They all had to spend hours on homework when Brenton only had to put in a machine. That's when the D squad came over every day until they got caught.

Lord, Cynthia. Rules.
The book Rules is an excellent book, one of my favorites actually. The book is about a girl named Catharine who has a brother, David. Because David has autism Catherine has to go with David to his occupational therapy sessions. Sometimes Catherine has trouble with people with disabilities. I think the book was very interesting Its funny at times and sad at times, so I liked that the book was long. So that's why you should take my advice and READ THIS AWESOME BOOK.

Lord, Cynthia. Rules.
One of the best books is on the 2009 High Tea List. Rules is about a girl named Catherine and her brother, David, who has autism. Catherine goes to a clinic with David when he has occupational therapy. She has trouble with people with and without disabilities. I liked this book and I know you will, too! One thing I like is that the book teachers that it doesn't matter if you have a disability. Everyone can still be friends.

Lowry, Lois. Gossamer
This book is about dream gives that help people escape the bad dream mentors. The main character, Littlest One, helps a little boy especially. I really like that after living in a foster home he was able to go back and live with his mom. I also enjoyed when the mentors came and gave bad dreams to the little boy. To find out if Littlest saves the boy , read the book. This book was perfect for me.

Mull, Brandon. Fablehaven
This is one of he very, very best books I have ever read! I thought it was a perfect book for me because I love action and fiction books. Fablehaven  has magical creatures such as fairies, witches, and the unimaginable animals. The main characters are Kendra and Seth. When the visit their Gramps Sorensen on his magical creatures preserve called Fablehaven, they know nothing bout the demon that has been imprisoned for years and that they will save Fablehaven, if they can. Read the end to see if Kendra and Seth can save Fablehaven. I just loved this book.

Penneypacker. Sara. Clementine.
I loved this book. It is about a girl who is called the "hard one" in her family. At school and at home she's always getting into trouble. You will like this book, too, because Clementine does get into trouble and she calls her brother fruit and vegetable names.

Editor's Note: If you like June B. Jones books and are ready to read something a little harder, this would be a good choice.

Sachar, Louis. Small Steps  This is a 2009 Literary High Tea book

This book is not quite a sequel to Holes but involves some of the same characters like X-Ray and Armpit. He is trying to improve his life and trying to lose his nickname.  He has a friend, named Ginny. Life is starting to look good when his old Camp Greenlake friend X-Ray comes with a scheme is supposed to double Armpit's money. Things start to fall out of place again but there are multiple surprises on Armpit's way improving his life.

I enjoyed this book because it was exciting and had odd twists and turns youʼd never expect. It was a great book and you are missing out if you don't read it.

Siegel, Siena Cheison. To Dance: a Memoir
I thought this was a great book. I loved that the book showed Siena's true feelings about dancing. The part I didn't like though was when Mr. B died. T To me it was so sad. Other than that this was a fantastic, terrific book. If you don't like dancing or true feelings, don't read this book.
